Angie Shamo, Kindergarten Assistant Teacher

Angie Shamo is the assistant teacher in the Morning Preprimary program with Heather Harvey in the River Birch classroom.  Angie grew up on a farm near Lake Michigan where she spent most days playing outside, riding horses and imagining with her brother. In 1998 she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University in Early Childhood Education.  Angie found her home with in the MSGL Community in 2002.  She felt very grateful to have the opportunity to earn her Montessori Teacher Certificate in 2005. Her oldest son is a MSGL Kindergarten graduate and her youngest son will be attending the toddler classroom this fall. Angie, her husband and their sons, make their home near Lafayette where they share a love of music, an affinity for Lake Michigan and spend most days playing outside.

1) Served MSGL community since 2002.
2) Completed Montessori Certification program 2005.
3) Experience teaching in variety of environments including the local Head Start and the Step One School, Berkley, California.

5) Hatha Yoga Teaching Certificate, 2011
